Mike Klimowicz

*Started drawing portraits at Marshall School during my elementary years

*Continued drawing portraits during my middle school years at South Orange Jr. High

*By Middle and High School I was exhibiting portraits at sidewalk, indoor art shows, libraries, etc.

*Most prolific years of producing portraits  was during teens while completing my high school diploma in 1979 at Seton Hall Prep

*Took local offered community based Portraiture classes at South Orange Jr. High School during my teens

*Took studio art classes with other local aspiring and established artists under Father Fallon held out of the local Art Supply Store in South Orange, etc

*Developed my portfolio, and applied to art schools to pursue a degree in the arts

*Took college class in Sculpture when learned to also do portraits in clay with Tony Travis at Seton Hall University

*Took college class in Watercolors when learned to try other mediums and subject matter with Edward Havis at Seton Hall University

*Attended and graduated from Skidmore College in 1983 with a BA degree and double major in Art and Psychology

*Learned various mediums and subjectivity during college, especially liking and training up in Photography and Ceramics

*Maintaining Art as a advocation and incorporating it in my life as a hobby

for ongoing expression and creativity I

pursued and completed my MSW degree in 1985 at Adelphi University Graduate School of Social Work

*Created and exhibited portraits and other artwork during college and graduate school at Skidmore College, South Orange Public Library, etc

*Taught college class in Portraiture at Skidmore College

*Presented display showing the process of printmaking at South Orange Public Library

*Bartered, traded, gave away and sold created artworks throughout my life including 

Drawing two portraits of the children of the founder of Vt. Teddy Bear for two hand made teddy bears

Drawing portrait of President Jimmy Carter, sent and acknowledged receiving

*Continued to study art learning to make Stained Glass with good friend and artist Christian Matthesius while living in The Berkshires 1985-1991 

*Studied Ceramics with Jane Burke, etc while living in the Berkshires

*Exhibited at Rudolf Steiner School art show, Twig Gallery, Top Hat Gallery, local restaurant, etc in Great Barrington 

*Established and ran Top Hat Gallery in Great Barrington, displaying my artworks with local aspiring and established artists

*Traveled to Europe, Italy and throughout US taking photographs primarily of Landscapes, and creating and exhibiting Framed Enlarged Photographs in restaurants like Bertucci in Cambridge, and doing Watercolors and Acrylics of Landscapes, Farms, Lighthouses

*Artwork in the 1990's-present is still created by me, but has taken a back seat to a career in the Human Services 

*Inspired once again amongst aspiring and established artists at The Leominster Art Gallery, I am once again creating and exhibiting
